You can do squats and other butt-targeting exercises every day, but sometimes no amount of working out will transform a flat butt into a round, perky butt. If you would like an effective, long-term solution to change the shape or size of your buttocks, a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure may be the answer. Little Rock BBL Surgeon Dr. Melanie Prince is Board Certified and highly experienced in this fat transfer technique to the buttocks.
Brazilian Butt Lift (Body Contouring With Fat Transfer)
Brazilian Butt Lift is a term used to describe a fat transfer procedure, or fat grafting, in which your own fat is used to augment your buttocks for natural-looking lift and contouring. Liposuction is performed to harvest fat from your midsection or thighs. The fat will be purified with specialized equipment to get it ready for transfer to the buttocks. The fat is then strategically injected into the butt area. It is important to work with a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon, such as Dr. Prince, to ensure that this multi-step process is handled carefully, with patient safety and optimal results in mind.
Benefits of the Brazilian Butt Lift
- Create a proportionate or hourglass shape
- Restore perkiness to a butt that has started to sag due to aging or other changes
- Get a defined, contoured butt when exercise doesn’t deliver results
- Feel more confident in jeans, athletic wear, and swimsuits
- Reduce fat on the tummy, waist, love handles, or thighs
- Accentuates the butt when liposuction of the flanks is performed at that same time
- More natural-looking and comfortable than butt implants
What to Expect During Your Brazilian Butt Lift
The first step is a consultation appointment with Dr. Melanie Prince at her Little Rock office. Dr. Prince will talk with you about how you would like your body to look, answer your questions about the procedure, and discuss your health and medical history to help you decide if a Brazilian Butt Lift is right for you. If you are a candidate, you will also discuss where on your body to get liposuction to collect fat for transfer to your butt.
The Brazilian Butt Lift procedure is typically performed with general anesthesia. Dr. Prince will begin liposuction with several very small incisions, through which a thin hollow tube will be inserted to remove the fat. Once the fat has been properly prepared for transfer, Dr. Prince will make several small incisions in the buttocks to inject the fat. She will complete the transfer carefully in order to get the best results possible.
Brazilian Butt Lift Results and Recovery
After your Brazilian Butt Lift surgery, you will experience some swelling and discomfort in the buttocks and in the liposuction site. You will be restricted from strenuous activities for up to 4 weeks and you will need to wear compression garments for 6 weeks after surgery. In the weeks after your procedure, you should avoid sitting directly on your buttocks. The more time you can rest without applying pressure to your butt, the better your results will be.
Due to the fact that between 25% and 50% of the transferred fat may be reabsorbed by your body, it is sometimes necessary to have more than one BBL procedure in order to get the results that you want. Your newly contoured curves will be visible immediately after healing and results are long-lasting provided you remain at a stable, healthy weight. Scarring will be minimal because the incisions used are very small and Dr. Prince will take care to place them where they will be less noticeable.
Why Choose Dr. Melanie Prince for Your Brazilian Butt Lift?
Dr. Prince knows that you have a lot of options when it comes to choosing a plastic surgeon. As the only female surgeon in the Little Rock area with board certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery, she is uniquely qualified to help you achieve your cosmetic goals while also safeguarding your safety. Some patients may not realize that Brazilian Butt Lift surgery can be a dangerous procedure if their surgeon injects fat too deeply into the buttock.1 Dr. Prince takes a conservative approach to fat transfer, with a focus on improving your body contour rather than increasing size beyond what is optimal. She will utilize her surgical skills and her sense of artistry to give you natural-looking results.
Dr Melanie Prince is professional, thorough, and a perfectionist. I highlyJenny
recommend her to anyone wanting amazing results. Her staff if polite
and professional. She is a board certified plastic surgeon, which is
important because she specializes in plastic surgery, reconstruction, and
cosmetics. Not just a cosmetic surgeon like some of the other doctors out there.
Are Brazilian Butt Lift results permanent?
The fat that is injected in your butt will remain there long-term, but a Brazilian Butt Lift does not stop the aging process, so your body size and shape may change. Results will last longest if you follow all postoperative instructions and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Will I need more than one procedure to see results?
You will be able to see results after your first BBL, but whether you need another procedure depends on your desired results and how much fat is reabsorbed after your first procedure. Many patients are happy with their results from one procedure, while others who want more volume opt for additional procedures.
What are the risks of Brazilian Butt Lift surgery?
Brazilian Butt Lift carries some risks of side effects or complications, as does any surgical procedure. Potential risks include: bleeding, infection, fat necrosis, and pulmonary complications.2 Dr. Prince will review all possible risks with you so you can make an informed decision when weighing the risks and benefits of this procedure.
Am I a candidate for Brazilian Butt Lift?
If you have always wished for a rounder, more shapely butt, or if your butt has changed with age or after having children, then Brazilian Butt Lift may be for you. Ideal candidates are non-smokers in general good health with enough fatty tissue to be harvested for fat transfer.
