Cheekbone Contouring

Cheekbone contouring with injectable dermal fillers is a great way to sculpt facial contours and rejuvenate the face without surgery. If you have always wished for high cheekbones or if you would like to correct facial volume loss associated with aging or weight loss, the aesthetic experts at Dr. Melanie Prince’s Little Rock practice can help.

How Injectable Fillers Can Enhance Cheekbones

High, symmetrical cheekbones add balance to the face and highlight other facial features. If you were not born with ideal bone structure, facial fillers can be used to add definition. Cheekbone fillers are also a great option for people who are seeking a more youthful appearance. As we age, our bodies reduce the natural production of collagen and skin loses elasticity which can result in sagging in the mid-face. Cheekbone contouring with injectable fillers can restore lost volume while also smoothing away fine lines in the cheek area.
Dermal fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane use hyaluronic acid to plump and contour skin. At our office, we offer different types of dermal fillers that each have a specific purpose and we will recommend the one that is best for your needs. Fillers can also be used to correct nasolabial folds, contour the jawline, and improve the look of the undereye area.

Who is a Good Candidate for Cheekbone Contouring?

If you would like to add definition to your cheek area, this treatment may be right for you. Cheekbone contouring with dermal fillers is non-surgical and requires little downtime, so it is appropriate for most patients. This treatment is especially beneficial for anyone who is seeking a non-surgical alternative to cosmetic surgery.

What to Expect From Your Treatment

Preparing for Cheek Fillers

There is little to no preparation needed before getting fillers. You may be advised to avoid alcohol and blood thinners in the days leading up to your appointment, as these can increase your chances of bruising after treatment.

Your Filler Treatment

Your injector will cleanse the skin and apply numbing cream to ensure your comfort. They will then strategically place injections in the cheek area. The placement and amount of filler will be determined during your consultation and be adjusted to meet your needs and desired results.

Recovery After Cheek Fillers

There is no recovery time needed after this treatment although you may be advised to avoid strenuous activity for a few hours. You may experience mild redness, swelling or tenderness at the injection site, but these side effects are temporary and should resolve quickly.

Cheekbone Contouring Results

Results will be visible immediately although they may be obscured by mild swelling in the first few hours. The longevity of filler results can vary, but most patients find their results last up to one year.
